In July we launched a new Business unit – Records Management involving: scanning, testing, digitising, coding, destruction and mailroom services. With increasing need for electronic document security and reduction of waste, digitising has become a necessary requirement for many organisations including our first customer the Department of Defence.
The Department of Defence requires all service member records to be digitised to National Archive standards. They were thrilled to be the first to engage Ability Works providing employment for 24 people living with social disadvantage and disabilities within the new Records Management business.
Delighted with the result, the Department of Defence awarded Ability Works a second parcel of work in November.
Ability Works has also partnered with Relationships Australia (Victorian branch) to digitise their records resulting in storage space savings and improved data security.
Testimonial – Sharon Greenhill Senior Manager Human Resources, Relationships Australia
“Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) recently engaged Ability Works to undertake high volume digital scanning, sorting and application of file-naming conventions for soft-copy documents. The team at Ability Works efficiently delivered a high quality and cost-effective result, within our agreed timeframe. I would recommend Ability Works and be happy to use them again in the future”
