Celebrating Morgan
Celebrating Morgan
Every International Women’s Day, organisations around the world pause to recognise the impact women make in their workplaces and communities. At Ability Works, that recognition isn’t limited to a single moment in the calendar – it’s woven into the way we work every day. Our organisation is strengthened by women with disability, women from culturally diverse backgrounds, women stepping into new careers, women leading teams, and women championing inclusion in ways that create meaningful change.
Together, they form a collective story of resilience, curiosity, lived experience, and a shared belief that workplaces should be places where everyone belongs. Within that broader story are the voices of individual women whose journeys reflect the heart of Ability Works.
This is one of those stories.
Redefining inclusion through creativity, honesty and lived experience
Morgan’s path at Ability Works is anything but linear, and that’s exactly what makes it powerful. What began as an application for a document scanning role quickly evolved into a career shaped by curiosity, talent and a fierce commitment to accessibility.
Today, Morgan works across accessibility and content creation, blending technical skill with creative instinct.
“What I enjoy most is the freedom to follow the work that makes sense for me – and the support to grow into roles that align with my strengths.”
Morgan speaks candidly about navigating assumptions, managing health and being misunderstood and how those experiences have shaped their resilience.
“Sometimes just getting through the day is an achievement. I’m resilient, I keep going, and I do my best.”
Their reflections on gender, sexuality and societal labels cut through noise with clarity:
“Labels create barriers… If we’re all just people and we all just struggle, maybe we’ll get over our prejudice and help one another.”
At Ability Works, Morgan found flexibility, trust and a workplace that listens to individuals rather than categories. Their definition of inclusion is refreshingly practical:
“An inclusive workplace listens to people as individuals, not stereotypes.”
Morgan’s story is one of honesty, grit and the belief that equity should be built into systems, not fought for. Their advice captures that ethos perfectly:
“Choose the life that makes sense for you, not the one others expect.”
