Every International Women’s Day, organisations around the world pause to recognise the impact women make in their workplaces and communities. At Ability Works, that recognition isn’t limited to a single moment in the calendar – it’s woven into the way we work every day. Our organisation is strengthened by women with disability, women from culturally diverse backgrounds, women stepping into new careers, women leading teams, and women championing inclusion in ways that create meaningful change.

Together, they form a collective story of resilience, curiosity, lived experience, and a shared belief that workplaces should be places where everyone belongs. Within that broader story are the voices of individual women whose journeys reflect the heart of Ability Works.

This is one of those stories.

As the leader of Inclusive Design, Inclusion Consulting and Training, and Marketing Communications, Natalie brings both expertise and heart to Ability Works. Her career has always been rooted in social justice, but also in the belief that social enterprises must be strong, sustainable and grounded in shared value.

Her journey into accessibility began with a moment that changed everything – watching a screen reader struggle through a website she had built.

“I was outraged that what I created didn’t work… and resolved to learn as much as possible and do better.”

That moment shaped her career. Today, she leads a team that harnesses lived experience to improve products, services, digital systems and physical spaces across industries.

Natalie’s reflections on inclusion are grounded in honesty:

“Inclusion is not a point in time. It is always changing.”

She believes in workplaces where people feel safe requesting adjustments, where uncomfortable conversations are welcomed, and where digital accessibility is treated with the same seriousness as physical access.

Her pride lies in her team – a group of people with lived experience who challenge assumptions and drive meaningful change.

And her advice for supporting women, especially women with disability, is beautifully simple:

“Listen.”

Natalie’s leadership is grounded, principled and deeply aligned with Ability Works’ mission; a reminder that inclusion is built through people who care enough to keep doing better.
