Case study – Frankston Hospital Redevelopment
The $1.1 billion Frankston Hospital redevelopment will deliver a new 12-storey clinical services tower, 130 additional beds, expanded mental health and oncology services, and 15 new operating theatres.
Exemplar Health is delivering the project with the Victorian Government as part of a public private partnership. LendLease in the design and construction contractor.
Ability Works Australia has partnered with a range of LeadLease’s subcontractors to deliver key components of the redevelopment, drawing on our expertise across multiple trades, including electrical, landscaping, construction and glazing.
The subcontractors we partnered with, and what we delivered for them, included:
- A.G Coombs: Provided angle support brackets to mount HVAC units to walls and ceilings.
- Landscape Plus: Coordinated the delivery of various styles of fabricated landscape edging, including Corten steel and powder coated
- Lee Group: Manufactured non-standard bollards
- Spective: Large volume aluminum window bracket machining
- Fredon: Provided Traffolyte labels
Ability Works Australia’s partnership with Lendlease and its subcontractors on this project provided a range of opportunities for our employees, some of which are outlined below.
- Bollards. Our employees used the robot to weld; custom-made the bollard caps, and adhered the reflective tape and caps onto the bollards.
- Traffolyte labels. Our employees printed the labels and organised the shipping of the labels to the customer.
- HVAC brackets. Our employees punched and drilled the holes into the metal.
- Window and roof brackets. Our employees did the machining.
